This topic was created to show off the specifications of machines that run Mineserver, whether they're fast or slow, new or old, good or bad.
I'll start:
Mineserver runs on:
- Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz Single-core w/ Hyper-threading
- 2 GB (1x2 GB) Kingston RAM
- MSI PM8M-V Motherboard
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3
Using these specs, I can easily have 10 people online playing in a single world with no lag, while playing with them on the same machine as the server is running.
-
runs partly on:
- Intel Xeon E5506 @ 4x 2.13Ghz (Dual CPU)
- 2GB (1x2GB) RAM
- Windows Server RC2 SP2
Playing on the same machine is possible to me too (finally), but I like things not running on my Comp, gotta use that RAM for something.
-
runs on
- AMD Phenom II X6 1075T Thuban 3 GHz (6 Cores)
- 8 GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600
- ATI Radeon HD 5750 Graphics Card
- Windows 7 x64
Can play game and run server without problems.
Never have problems with really anything, hehe. :P
-
Runs on:
* Intel Core2 Duo T9300
* 2GiB DualChannel RAM
* nVidia GeForce 8400M G
* Windows XP 32-bit
But I guess it would run on almost anything that could run WinXP anyway ;)

AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2600+
2GB DDR1 ram
Some crappy old mobo
Ubuntu server 10
And runs like a dream (unlike the java crap >.<)
-
Single core of some Xeon processor
1 GB RAM
On a VPS with above specs, mineserver runs like butter. The comparison with the official server is quite striking. I'd use mineserver for everything if it weren't for the fact that fire burns underwater.

Mac Mini PPC
G4 1.25 GHz
512 MB RAM
running debian squeeze
a bit sluggish with one player but to be fair, the mini was running qbittorrent and firefox at the time.
and
Intel D410PT ( Atom double core 1.6 )
2 Gb RAM
Debian squeeze
run perfectly ( almost : " map.cpp: [map.cpp@734]: Loading chunk failed (getLight)" ) on this one ( alongside an official minecraft server ), but strangely it is perfect only on LAN play.
( not a WAN issue since it play better with the official server )

P3 700MHz
768Mb RAM
Gentoo linux, stable branch.
Compiled it on the same machine. Works like a charm, especially with world in tmpfs.
Tried starting server with nice -20, could hold 5 players without any time lags (well except network ping related)
-
Intel Atom D410
2GB DDR2 RAM
Ubuntu Server 10.04 32 bit
Compile/update on same machine. Uses barely any resources and works well speed-wise.
-
Asus k60 series laptop
Integrated video,
Pentium Dual core processor 2.2 GHz
Win7
-
2xIntel Xeon 2.26GHz Quad Core
8x2048MB RAM
CentOS.
I tried running it with Windows on the same specs, and it was slow. But thats no surprise.

Running mineserver on a p4 2ghz 1,2gb ram 40gb hdd.
It seems to run smooth but haven't had a lot of people on yet.
-
Sysinfo:
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00Ghz
1.00 GB of RAM
WinXP Pro SP2
Edit: As of 06/11 Mineserver no longer runs under windows
-
Home Machine:
Windows 7 x64 bit
AMD Phenom II x4 - 3.2ghz
8GB 1600 DDR3 Ram
Raid1+0 500gb x2
Dedicated Box #1:
Debian 4
Intel Core Duo (dual core) 3.8ghz
4GB 1333 DDR3 Ram
SCSI 250gb
-
It runs on my Buffalo LS-XHL NAS (Debian Squeeze installed on it)
ARM Feroceon 1.2Ghz
256Mo ddr (I suppose)
Debian Squeeze Kernel 2.6.31.8
-
CentOS
2x Xeon 2.16 GHz
6GB of RAM
-
HP Prolian DL380 G6:
2*Intel Xeon L5640 (hex core CPUs)
30 GB of RAM, upgrading to 60 GB soon.
Raid 0 for OS and hypervisor stuff - 1,2TB
Raid 5 for file storage - N/A :P
Windows Server 2008 R2 x64

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Phenom II X4 3.2ghz
AMPX DDR3-1333 4GB Ganged Mode
MSI 740GM-P25 MicroATX Mainboard
Compiled using SSE2, tried to make x64 build but got module link errors, not sure why though.
-
Mac OS 10.6.7
Intel Core 2 Duo 1,83 GHz
1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 RAM
(Even if this CPU is not fast/the RAM is not big, I have no problems to run Mineserver and Minecraft :) )
