106  Mineserver / Support / Re: A lot of errors on: December 27, 2010, 01:35:50 am
I have a feeling this is caused by corrupted inventory for some reason. I've been deleting world/players/<player>.dat file when this happened and it seems to work. I've been fixing the inventory so it shouldn't corrupt it anymore (no fixed windows binary available yet!)

little update: Furnace inventory not working. Crashing the client
108  Mineserver / Development / Re: Minecraft Beta on: December 26, 2010, 05:19:52 am
There..I worked whole night and the item interactions seems to be working quite nicely.
But crafting is not implemented, sorry! Chests do save the items now.

Player inventory now really working except for crafting and equipped items.
110  Mineserver / Support / Re: how to install on: December 24, 2010, 04:42:15 pm
You can try checking the wiki page: http://mineserver.be/wiki/Installation

But because of the beta update, Mineserver is not usefull for real game hosting just yet. We are really in alpha stage of this software Wink Currently missing features include chests, workbench and furnaces, even the players inventory is not completely working...
111  Mineserver / Development / Re: Minecraft Beta on: December 23, 2010, 01:48:30 pm
I'm still working on the chest/workbench/furnace inventories!

Player inventory is mostly working.
112  Mineserver / Development / Re: -rdynamic for plugins on: December 23, 2010, 12:51:46 am
well if you got it working, could you provide us a working Makefile for mingw? =)

We could add it as Makefile.mingw or something..
113  Mineserver / Support / Re: how to setup admins, ops, and members on: December 22, 2010, 05:24:06 pm
Well currently you can't setup any permissions, all that stuff is being transferred to a plugin (which is not ready!)
114  Mineserver / Development / Minecraft Beta on: December 21, 2010, 02:19:58 am
Ok, we have moved to the Beta stage of Minecraft.
First Mineserver beta releases are in downloads.

Don't expect everything to work! I was able to finish most of the server side inventory stuff but there might still be some bugs related to it!

But anyway, please report any bugs you see Wink
115  Mineserver / Development / Re: Bandwidth? on: December 19, 2010, 11:10:29 pm
Has anyone done tests on bandwidth usage of this server compared to the official one?

I did some measurements some weeks back and noticed Mineserver was using much less bandwidth..altought the java server had mobs enabled Wink But the strange thing was the bandwidth went up only when I dug. Maybe I should do the tests again...
I don't have any "official" numbers on this. But I might say the Mineserver is sending less "extra" data.
116  Mineserver / Discussion / Re: Trees, Flowers, Animals, Mobs? on: December 17, 2010, 07:31:01 pm
Hey Mineserver team. This is my first post on this new/awesome forum. Smiley YAY!

Welcome to the forums \o/

I have a question. Where are all the trees/flowers or animals/mobs? Is the function still in development or can I create them by adding some sort of a variable in config.cfg?

Yeah, they are not done yet. We have some plans but because some other issues are more important, those haven't been implemented yet. Someone was already making some sort of a tree generator but it should also be implemented to the map generator... There shouldn't be any hidden configuration options Wink
And it might be that some of those features will be plugins (like mobs)...

BTW: Great Minecraft Server, really! Good job! Its so fast =)

Thanks, we do our best! =)
117  Mineserver / Development / Re: x86-64 Builds on: December 16, 2010, 12:38:47 am
64bit windows binary built: http://mineserver.be/downloads/mineserver_20101216003400_9a5dd6df_x64_VS2010.zip

The build pack (http://mineserver.be/downloads/mineserver-VS2010_build_pack.zip) also contains everything needed for building 32/64bit version with VC2010 (get from http://www.microsoft.com/express/Windows/).
118  Mineserver / News / Re: Windows Builds on: December 15, 2010, 10:37:06 pm
I'm now doing builds with VS2010 and I put a pack to our downloads for windows users to build mineserver without too much trouble: http://mineserver.be/downloads/mineserver-VS2010_build_pack.zip

You can get the compiler from http://www.microsoft.com/express/Windows/.

The pack should contain all needed libs, headers and dll's. There is also a .bat file which can be used to build mineserver if you have git (and 7zip) installed. You might have to change the folders in the script!

Have fun and comment if something is missing from the pack!
119  Mineserver / Discussion / Re: Colored Text on: December 09, 2010, 09:27:10 pm
Yeah the colored text is done by adding ยง character with 0-f color code. You can't do that with the client but in server we can add it to messages Wink
120  Mineserver / Development / Re: Server Crashing Issues on: December 07, 2010, 10:12:41 pm
Oh, and no connections are shown on the console, just the message.

Because no message is printed on connect. Only after handshake and login. So if anyone connects with wrong protocol, you would get only those messages.
