91  Mineserver / Support / Re: No map? on: January 10, 2011, 08:42:49 pm
hmm, there has been problems with the map generation, the spawn position is always(?) inside a are you sure you are not just trapped inside the mountain? If so, you can just start digging untill you're free...

If the map is really not generating then it's strange =)
92  Mineserver / Support / Re: Server wont allow others to join? on: January 09, 2011, 10:38:46 pm
That doesn't sound like a problem related to Mineserver, are you sure your ISP isn't blocking ports or something...? Whitelist isn't working anyway...
93  Mineserver / Support / Re: Server is joinable and playable until i connect. on: January 09, 2011, 10:37:27 pm
I changes something in the networking code, try the newest build...=)
94  Mineserver / Discussion / Re: Some version confusion. on: January 09, 2011, 10:15:43 pm
It's the version of the Mineserver, but we are just updating it quite randomly because we have no "official" releases yet Wink Mostly we just use the commit hashes. I'm trying to make new windows builds every now and then.
95  Mineserver / Development / Re: Minecraft Beta on: January 08, 2011, 10:43:30 pm
well actually...

All recipes are now defined there =b
96  Mineserver / Discussion / Re: Um how do i fix this and setup my server on: January 07, 2011, 12:09:19 pm
it seems that you need to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package...

I'll check if there is a way to avoid this =/
97  Mineserver / Plugins / Re: The new Plugin API on: January 07, 2011, 12:35:44 am
Theres now windows builds available with command-plugin included, check

The command-plugin supports only /i, /home, /settime and /cuboid for now!
98  Mineserver / Plugins / The new Plugin API on: January 05, 2011, 12:58:45 am
I was wondering what functions/hooks do you people really need?

So I made a new C-pointer struct based API just to see if that would really work and it did!
I have some documentation at but the wiki page needs some changes because it's a bit messy with all the functions (if anyone has an idea on this, please do something Grin).

To create a plugin, you basically just need to include plugin_api.h and define init and shutdown functions (as seen on the wiki page).
I have a test plugin at plugintest/src/command.cpp just for an example. It might not be the most readable code because I just put that together for testing =/

I also made the plugin system the way, that _all_ the old plugins should work even when the Mineserver changes. (Wrapper functions and some amount of void pointers, which can be "converted" to function pointers when needed. Old plugins just think they are still void pointers)

It'll take few more days to get all the needed functions added there...
99  Mineserver / Discussion / Re: Development timeframe on: January 05, 2011, 12:29:54 am
well thanks Wink

We don't really have a time frame because everyone is coding on their free time. But we are trying to get this done (meaning usefull) as soon as possible!

What we are currently missing:
 * Furnaces aren't working after Beta update
 * Minecarts/boats are not working
 * Redstone not handled at all
 * Water/lava physics are unfinished
 * Mobs...
 * Spreading grass
 * Some other minor stuff...(like stacking items)
 * few bugs that crash the server once in a while, altough I know what causes that, just need to find time to fix...Grin

did I miss something? Grin Well anyway..we have some work to do...
100  Mineserver / Development / Re: /cuboid on: January 04, 2011, 02:09:45 am
ok, I made a simple plugin test with /cuboid
  • Type /cuboid
  • Place 1st block
  • Place 2nd block
  • The space between is filled
101  Mineserver / Development / Re: Helping out? on: January 03, 2011, 10:28:51 pm
Hi there =)

If you're on IRC, join #mineserver to follow the development more closely Wink

Every programmer is welcome to our project, easiest way to get in to the development is to fork our main repo at signing in to the github and so on.

Well if you want to help, you could for example check the bug listing at and see if you could verify any of those and maybe locate them..altough I find that a bit boring.

We actually have (almost) working water physics but mostly the drying out part is buggy, if you want to take a look at that, it would help.. Water physics are just disabled in the earlier builds because of a bug in the config reader...

But anyway, you are very welcome to help us even by just reporting bugs!
102  Mineserver / Development / Re: Trouble Getting Plugin to Initialize on: December 30, 2010, 02:11:11 am
Anyways, I've has a really rough time getting the server to use my command.dll I have compiled.  I was wondering if someone else could give it a shot with what I have compiled to see if that could be the problem.  Also if someone could provide me with their's, I would like to do some testing as well.

My plugin system has its own plugintest\src\command.cpp. If you're using that, then compiling the Mineserver also requires plugin_api.cpp and defining FADOR_PLUGIN Wink
103  Mineserver / Support / Re: Three problems. on: December 30, 2010, 02:02:51 am
1) No commands are available, not even /help. They just show up as chat text.

As Ben S. said, they were taken out Wink I'm working on the plugin system but it'll not be done untill sometime next week..

2) I spawn inside the ground and have to dig my way out.

Have to look at should check the player doesn't spawn inside the ground =/

3) The roles.txt file doesn't give even the slightest hint to its syntax. Neither does the wiki.

That functionality was also taken out for now...
104  Mineserver / Plugins / Re: A few questions about plugins on: December 29, 2010, 10:20:22 pm
I was able to put together a nice Plugin API ( last night. A lot of functions and hooks missing but I'm going to add them! Wink
105  Mineserver / Development / Re: Minecraft Beta on: December 28, 2010, 05:23:34 pm
Crafting is now implemented but only the basic recipes are hardcoded there!
You can try

I'm thinking of a way to put custom recipes easily to the server, maybe some own configuration file for those..

There was still one bug reported, if you're holding an item and clicking another item in the inventory, strange things happend Wink
